A Short Sketch of

ELEANOR ELIZABETH GRIFFETH (BODILY)

by

by her nephew, Dean G. Bodily

Eleanor Elizabeth Griffeth was born March 27, 1871 in Hyde Park, Utah the daughter of Patison Delos Griffeth and Sarah Elizabeth Roberts. She lived with her mother in Grover, Wyoming most of her life, although she came to our place many times to help take care of our family.

She took care of Grandmother most of the time. After mother died (Eva May Griffeth Bodily) she and Grandmother came to live and take care of us. She married my father, Henry James Bodily, on October 14, 1920 in the Logan Temple. There were no children born to them, but she was a good mother to us.

She was the fifth child born in the family of nine children. She died March 26, 1938.

The following has been added by Alice Albertie Griffeth Griffiths:

Aunt Ella, as we called her, was witty, independent, neat, sympathetic, and very ambitious. She didn’t have time to marry younger because she was too busy helping others. But when Uncle Henry needed her to mother her children after their mother died she consented to marry. I never saw them together after they were married, but I have been told that they were very happy, and that Aunt Ella enjoyed Uncle’s caresses as much as Aunt Eva had enjoyed them. She had a very musical voice, especially when she giggled.
